Tax, Shipping, and Delivery
In accordance with applicable state and local laws, WMU is required to charge sales tax in certain localities. As a general rule, it is the laws of the state of delivery that determine whether sales tax will be due on your transaction.
WMU does not collect sales or use tax in all states. Even if we do not collect sales tax from you, you may owe sales or use tax on your purchase unless it is specifically exempt from taxation. Your purchase is not exempt merely because it is made over the internet or by other remote means. Many states require purchasers to file a sales/use tax return at the end of the year, reporting all of the taxable purchases that were not taxed, and to pay the tax on those purchases. Details of how to report these taxes may be found at the websites of your respective taxing jurisdictions.
For our tax-exempt customers, WMU does not collect sales tax if we have your exemption certificate on file. If your church/organization is tax exempt, please email a copy of the exemption certificate to firstname.lastname@example.org. The tax exemption certificate will remain on file, unless the church/organization is incorporated in a state where tax exemption certificates expire. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to indicate that the purchaser's church/organization is tax exempt and to ensure that a current tax exemption certificate remains on file with national WMU.
Shipping and handling charges for product orders are calculated on the total dollar amount of the order as shown in the table below. Digital downloads (electronic files) and subscription prices (magazines, etc.) are not included in the calculation.
